Man Robs Skokie Hair Salon at Gunpoint

A man robbed a hair salon at Fashion Square Shopping Mall in Skokie on Dec. 27. The suspect made off with $110 after posing to buy a bottle of shampoo.

  A hair salon worker was greeted with an unexpected transaction on Dec. 27, one police believe might be related to several similar incidents. Police responded to a robbery at Hair Cuttery at Fashion Square Shopping Mall, 9442 Skokie Blvd., on Dec. 27 around 10:34 a.m. According to the report, a man walked into the hair salon while two employees were working; one was shampooing a customer’s hair while the other was up front at the register. The suspect then approached the cashier with a bottle of shampoo he was pretending to purchase, according to the report.
