We've got the odds for some of the most unusual prop bets for Super Bowl XLVI. These make betting on the coin flip seem normal.
Betting on the Super Bowl coin flip used to be considered crazy business. Those odds are simple: 50/50. But times have changed, and people can wager on bets that have nothing to do with the Super Bowl - from whether Alicia Keys will be booed during or after her rendition of the National Anthem to how many times “Jack Harbaugh” will be shown on TV during the game. The over/under on the latter is currently at 2-and-a-half. We've looked through these wacky bets and posted them - some with their odds - below. Wednesday’s Lottery Powerball jackpot hit $500 million on Wednesday, and that can only go up higher, officials said.
Jozefa S. is an Illinois State Lottery winner with a bit of advice on playing the lottery: “you can’t win if you don’t play so go ahead and play.” A lot of people will be plucking down $2 for a Powerball ticket in one of the lottery’s biggest jackpots of the year. The jackpot is now $500 million and may grow larger by Wednesday’s drawing, lottery officials said. “When (the jackpot) is this large, it’s not unusual for the jackpot to go up. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pumped up again,” said Chanele Newton, a Northstar Lottery Group spokesman. Northstar runs the Illinois State Lottery. A total of $200,000 tickets were sold in a half-hour span Tuesday in Illinois alone, Newton said. There has been no Powerball winner since Oct. 6, and …
