Deranged marriage? A woman came to the Skokie police station to report a disorderly conduct complaint on Feb. 17. According to the report, the woman’s cousin’s ex-husband has been sending out wedding invitations advising that the two are getting married. The woman went on to tell police that the man is “delusional” and that the alleged suspect has visited her parent’s home at least a dozen times, the report said. The invitations went on to say that the wedding reception would be held at a banquet hall in Bensenville, the report said. No charges have been filed. Residential burglary A home in the 3200 block of Emerson Street was reported burglarized on Feb. 25. According to the report, a Blu-Ray device and Nintendo Wii were reported missing…

License plate sticker stolen A car parked in the 4700 block of Church Street had its license plate sticker stolen on Dec. 30. Gate stolen A gate valued at $500 was reported stolen from a home in the 8200 block of Kedvale Avenue on Dec. 30. According to the report, the victim told police he regularly sees scavengers in the area. Stolen fence A fence was reported stolen from the outside of a home in the 8700 block of St. Louis Avenue on Dec. 31. Part One: Hoarding Cleanup - It's Personal Patch followed Skokie native and owner of American Hoarders Craig Strauss as he cleaned up people’s homes and attempted to rescue hoarders from their possessions. Strauss said he had firsthand knowledge of the problem, describing his father as a hoarder. In most cases, hoarding is a psychological disorder that's characterized as an inability to throw away items, experts said.
