About Michael

Michael Melinger started Home Instead Senior Care, with his wife Jackie,  in Skokie in 2001.  The company provides essential services to help seniors remain independent, and continue living in their homes.  These services include things like companionship, housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, errands & incidental transportation to appointments, and help with personal care such as bathing and dressing.

The company quickly expanded to Park Ridge and the north side of Chicago, and serves numerous individuals in Niles and the surrounding areas.

Michael also serves on the Illinois Department of Public Health's Home Health Advisory Board.  The HHAB has 17 members, each appointed by the Governer of Illinois, and meets quarterly at the IL Dept. of Public Health's offices to discuss and advise IDPH on all matters related to licensing of home health and caregiving organizations.

In addition to the HHAB Michael has also served multiple terms on numerous other boards & committees, including the Illinois Chapter of the National Private Duty Association, the Home & Community Based Services Cabinet of Life Services Network, The Northwest Metro Chapter of the Illinois Continuity of Care Organization,  and the Village of Skokie's IPLAN Committee

Michael volunteers in numerous nursing homes and adult day care centers providing pet therapy with his therapy dog, Walter.  Click here to meet Walter the Goldendoodle .

Hi Michael,

I am working on a feature film that is helping a great cause as well as offering people the opportunity to get involved
with the film. I think this would be a great story to write about and tell people. I just wanted to pass this along. …Or If it’s not too much trouble, pledge on something (they are offering great things!) and if you can also please pass this along to your friends.

If I can help you out with anything or the production can help you with anything, please don’t hesitate to ask.

Here is the link for the film:
