ReplyWe need to hold our administrators more accountable than we have in the past. Obviously stories like this help that happen, but some of these people are just so far removed from accountability that they run at their mouth. This guy should have simply said it was a decision made in the best interest of the school district. Instead he had to justify himself, albeit without public discourse, and in turn shifted this into a religious debate. Shame on him.
Land of the free and home of the brave? Not with these clowns at the helm. This is as anti-America as it comes. (And not because of the underlying holiday in question)

Don't waste too much energy on anti-gun nuts. Like any extremist they cannot be swayed with logical discourse with statistics that CLEARLY outline CC does not increase violence.
The reality is that the Constitution provides us certain unalienable rights. SCOTUS affirmed the second amendment as an individual right. While SCOTUS has not stated that CC is a right of the person, 49 states have.
Frankly, it's Chicago that is the problem. The urban politicians are the reason these bills haven't passed in the past. They are ignorant and fearful. They have a ridiculous amount of gun crime in Chicago and don't know what to do about it. They are misguided and believe that CC, just like the right to own a gun that they so vehemently opposed until the law caught up with them (Chicago), will create more violence. Statistics say otherwise.
Chicago can keep up with this attitude and continue forking over large sums of money to groups like the Second Amendment Foundation, when its leaders and Counsel are sanctioned for their legal behavior.
Pity.
